Apiece Apart started with the idea of a wardrobe packed into a single bag, to be mixed and matched, to go anywhere and do anything. The freedom of a refined wardrobe. The freedom to explore, transform, and dream. Apiece Apart collections are designed for the sensuous, ever-evolving woman, pairing high fabric standards with tailoring to inspire confidence, movement, and ease.

In recent years, Apiece Apart has built a network of talented, clever, and self-starting women through their “Apiece Apart Woman” series, revealing the versatility of women, and their creative selves. 

Laura Cramer and Starr Hout, a Texan and a Seattleite, are lifelong friends with creative lives that ran parallel until a road trip through West Texas inspired their collaboration.  The designers met in NYC while students at NYU. Starr worked in the art world, before transitioning in fashion where she worked as a stylist. Laura worked as a graphic designer and art director, specializing in branding.

It was on their 30th birthdays (the designers are born a day a part) that the designers took a road trip to West Texas and conceived of the line - of intermixing pieces that could be packed in a single bag. The line continues to evolve with the designers themselves. The designers both live in Brooklyn, about a block a part, with their husbands and children. Apiece Apart is found in over 200 retail locations worldwide.
